The Health Improvement Alliance leads a process called the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to assess the health needs of the community. This process is conducted as part of a larger goal of measurably improving the health and wellbeing of its residents. Understanding the current health status of the community through the CHNA process identifies priorities for future planning and funding.
The Health Improvement Alliance completed its most recent CHNA in 2025. This included the development of a comprehensive Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) to address the major unmet needs in the region. The three priority areas that were chosen are: Mental Wellbeing, Preventive Care & Quality of Life, and Strengthening Communities. Each priority area is embedded within our workgroups, which will focus on continuing current projects and developing new ones over the next three years, from 2025-2028. Work for the next CHNA will begin in 2027, with the release of a new report in 2028.
